Meditarranean planting on London roof terrace

Brief:
To convert a previously unused roof top into an outdoor entertaining space with BBQ facilities.
Design:
The roof top was divided into two areas, one for seating and relaxation, and a separate outdoor kitchen. Storage cupboards and floor surface are finished in Ipe hardwood timber, and the bespoke planters are faux Corten Steel. Olive trees are used as key structural plants with a blend of herbaceous perennials such as long flowering daisy, Erigeron karvinskianus and tall Calamagrostis 'Overdam' grasses.
