Contemporary courtyard design in Chiswick
Split level raised planters to create space for generous planting in the paved courtyard garden.
A returning client, moving to a smaller property, wished to create a space to enjoy as much as her previous larger garden. The side return extension and bi-fold doors mean that the garden is visible from the house at all times.
Using the same stone paving inside and out, with a level threshold helps to extend the internal/external space, making both appear larger. Lateral hardwood trellis frames the garden and raised beds at varying heights are built for planting around the perimeter of the garden, enhancing the sense of space. The scheme is completed with oak table and chairs chosen for their sculptural design.
