The water feature and raised planter serve dual purpose of attactive vista from the house, and screening for bicycle storage at the rear of the garden.

Barnes Village

Brief:

To create the sense of extending the house into the garden in order to maximise the indoor/outdoor lifestyle. Views into the garden are important and as keen cyclists, the clients required a screened bike store.

Design:

Limestone used internally is continued outside, across a level threshold to extend the living space by bringing the outside in. Steps down to a hardwood timber deck lead to built in seating with integral planters. A rendered wall incorporating a water feature, serves the dual purpose of creating a vista from the house and screening for the bespoke bike store at the rear. Use and enjoyment of the garden is extended with outdoor lighting to bring the space to life at night.
