Brief: To redesign the back garden creating space for outdoor dining and entertaining, reflecting the contemporary interior of the home. Low maintenance planting is essential, tailoring the amount of gardening required to fit in with the Client’s busy lifestyle.
Design: Built and planted in April 2008, two terraces paved in black limestone are linked by a slate chipping path. The second, larger terrace is surrounded by structural planting to enhance the sense of privacy. Large planting beds separate the hard landscaping, creating a journey through the garden.
A Palm tree is the focal point of the planting, surrounded with Bamboos, grasses and herbaceous planting, combining to create a garden filled with texture, movement and year round interest.
