Brief: The garden needed to be redesigned as part of the extensive re-build to the property. The clients wanted a garden that would look good year round and which could be enjoyed as much from the inside as out. Shaded and sunny seating was required as well as a large dining terrace at a level threshold with the property. Possible future need for wheelchair access had to be considered and wide steps were required to accommodate a removable ramp.

Design: A wide terrace at a level threshold to the property provides easy access to the dining space which can be shaded by a retractable sun screen. Shallow side steps lead down to a resin bonded path which sweeps around a circular lawn to a shaded pavilion.
The planting of semi mature trees and shrubs helped give the garden structure and privacy from an early stage while herbaceous plants, bulbs and climbers provide scent and colour over a long season.
