Brief: To transform the existing walled garden of the Charles Dickens Museum in Bloomsbury, Central London into an inviting but practical space for the use of museum visitors as well as a venue for staging public and private events.

Design: Traditional London stock brick and Yorkstone was used to tie in with the architecture of this listed building. Existing drainage problems were resolved to create one open level area surrounded by raised planting beds which double as additional seating. A small lion head water spout muffles the noise of the city while a mix of structural and seasonal planting brings colour and interest year round and helps to create a tranquil haven.
